On the forthcoming 35 th FEST the program “Europe out of Europe” shall have a competition character and involve eight small cinematographies of non-European or non-EU European countries, the former being “under” its cultural legacy. The best film from this program shall be decided upon by the three-strong international jury. Two international members of jury are Pawel Pawlikowski i Meinolf Zurhors, while the exclusive media sponsor the Politika Group and FEST have appointed Dubravka Lakić , the critic of the daily Politika, for its member of the jury.

The competition part of FEST “Europe out of Europe” shall be held in Dom Sindikata from February 24 to March 3, at 20h; the film which will be elected as best shall be screened the last evening of the Festival on March 4 in the Main Hall of the Sava Center at 22h. The films which will be competing for the award are “Free Floating” of Boris Hlebnikov, “Hamlet” of Aleksandar Rajković, “Fate” of Zeki Demirkubuz”, “In Order to go to Heaven, You First Die!” of Djamshed Usmonov, “Paradise Birds” of Talgat Asirankulov, “The Baloon” of Ethan Fox, “Two” of Puriša Đorđevic and “Armin” of Ognjen Sviličić.

UPDATED: Jury of the “Europe out of Europe” Competition, Dubravka Lakić, film critic of the daily Politika, Pawel Pawlikowski, film director from United Kingdom, and Meinolf Zurhorst, ZDF and Arte Commissioning director, decided to award the Film “To get to Heaven first you need to die” by Djamshed Usmonov, for its original characters and seductive performances, and a story which takes us on a journey that's never predictable, but always convincing.
